About Us
WHY WE DO IT.…

Police, Peace Officers, EMS, Firefighters and Military personnel are there, trained and equipped, when we need them.  Despite shiftwork, long hours and their own family obligations, many volunteer their time to do a little more.

Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society is one such example and one of this year’s worthwhile charities.  It is made up entirely of volunteer, off-duty Firefighters who raise funds to help keep the Burn Treatment Centre at Foothills Medical in Calgary up to date with quality equipment so that burn victims can have the best possible outcomes.

Other selected charities this year provide supports for these professionals when they need a little help from us.

Police, Peace Officers, EMS, Firefighters and Military face unique situations that many of us cannot even imagine.  Shiftwork, deployment, high-risk incidents and seeing what fire, accidents and violence can do to the victims in their care can take a toll, and sometimes, place these professionals at higher risk for stress, family breakdown, PTSD and other related challenges.

The HONOUR RIDE supports selected local non-profit charities that provide quality programs and supports to the dedicated men and women who are our community heroes.

THEY are there when WE need them…let’s be there when they need us.
THE HONOUR RIDE

The Honour Ride began in 2012 with the dedication of a handful of volunteers from the Blue Knights , Alberta 5 chapter.  Wanting to make a difference for the men and women who spend their careers working diligently to keep us safe, the Blue Knights began a fundraising event that helps charities who support these heroes.  It is a motorcycle ride…of course…a poker ride and in dedication to the men and women who give so much to community, it is called…THE HONOUR RIDE.

Held at the Military Museums of Calgary, the 2012 Honour Ride raised funds for the Calgary Military Family Resource Centre and the Veteran’s Food Bank.  Our Honorary Ride Captain was Cpl. Barrett.

Since that time, THE HONOUR RIDE has grown and provided fundraised revenue to STARS Air Ambulance, Legacy Place Society (formerly Diakonos), Calgary Military Family Resource Centre, Calgary Firefighters Burn Treatment Society, John Petropoulos Memorial Fund and the Veteran's Food Bank.
The HONOUR RIDE offers an awesome Poker Ride through the Southern Foothills of Alberta, fabulous BBQ, door prizes and a live auction.
